Energy, time, and money are limited – so how can you make sure you spend them well?
There are a few ways to consider your energy bank:
- How do you make best out of your precious 24 hours?
- How do you spend your time and energy to have a fulfilling and rewarding day?
- Lastly, what are things do you do to improve your day? Are there some pockets of time you are wasting like spending too much time on social media, meaningless chats with your neighbor or coworker?
We all have bad, unproductive and wasted days. But they don’t have to be the norm. Do you want to change and improve your days? Here is a menu of options to give you simple, and easy ways to instantly improve your mood, and your day.
Easy Ways to Instantly Make Your Day Better
Get into the Habit of Reading

Reading books has been the greatest contributor to my atmosphere of growth, and most importantly, to improving my life. It is one of the cheapest ways of mood-lifting you can invest in. It’s a powerful source of knowledge, happiness, and confidence.
It’s as simple as making a habit of reading a few pages before going to bed. You will eventually see the changes in your life as it did for me. It will change the way you see yourself or the way you see the world. Reading is just so magnificent that I can’t resist mentioning. It is amazing how quickly someone can get inspired by a book and completely transform their day.
Questions to ask yourself: What book has changed the way you see the world or yourself What book is transformative to you? What book is a page-turner for you? What book has changed your way of life? Here are some of my favorites.
Listen to Powerful Speakers
It is enormously satisfying to listen to inspiring and powerful speakers, and the best part is, this doesn’t take much effort or energy on your part. All you need is to listen with all ears, and it won’t take much of your time. There is always joy in listening and learning something new from people. Listening to powerful speakers like Tony Robbins or Nick Vujicic can help you have an awesome day. You can listen to them while going to work, or while doing household chores.
Meditate
Invite calmness, fulfillment and intention into your day by meditating. There’s a lot of benefits of meditation to improving your day. It helps us practice mindfulness, it gives us clarity of our goals for the day, and helps us make better decisions. I recommend doing this for at least five minutes after waking up in the morning. Shut your eyes, breathe into your body, clear your mind, and feel the energy. Feel the force in you, revel in your beautiful essence, and be ready to seize the day.
“Go about your day today as if it’s your last day on earth.”
Keep a Journal
This is one thing I always do when I have tough days or when I am unmotivated in general. Journaling is the key to attuning your emotions and recognizing your thoughts. Write openly about things to understand them better. Know what you’re feeling and process your emotions by transcribing them into paper. Count your wins for the day, so you can be reminded of how great your day actually is. Write down things that did not work out well and plan how you can improve them. You can also practice journaling before starting your day. Just write and imagine how you want to show up in the world.
Exercise

Exercising adds quality to your day. It gives you the energy you need for the day and there’s no doubt it is good for your whole being. Get a solid 30-minute workout. Dance or do Yoga. Go for a walk or visit the gym to make your day better. If regular exercise does not stick to you, get an accountability partner.
Say Affirmations
Transform your day with positive words. Take your complaint, turn it inside out, and make it your affirmation. I believe in the power of affirmations. They create our realities. What you say over and over can create the results you want. It seems to be like a fantasy but it’s not, because your words carry power. So, make your affirmations visible so that you are constantly reminded of your goals. If you repeat your affirmations over and over, they will develop over time into seeds of your reality. Manifest and affirm that you will have a great day and the universe will do its best to support it.
Do Something Creative

You might say “But I’m not a very creative person.” I say everyone has creativity in themselves, as everyone has a unique story to tell. You are an artist, and you can do something creative like photography, writing a poem, cooking, composing a song, drawing, painting, creating a vision board, or anything else that excites you.
The universe requests the honor of your presence at the creativity room. What are you good at? What are your interests? What activity brings out creativity in you? Browse a creative community like Skillshare to connect with likeminded people and find your niche.
Learn Something New
There is always joy in learning something new. I say that an atmosphere of growth is the key to not just improving your day, but improving your life in general. Whether it’s a small atmosphere of growth or an enormous one, never underestimate the impact of growth and learning in your life.
Take online courses to educate yourself in something new. Nudge yourself from your comfort zone to your stretch zone because growth comes out only from our comfort zone. And when you aim to constantly improve yourself, your life gets better, too. It can be pretty difficult to do new things, but we also know that it gets easier when we practice it over and over.
Better Days Ahead..
We all want to have a great day, if not improve our days. Achieving this is the accumulation of the things we do in a day. Every action you take can change your day for the better or for worse. And the eight things mentioned above are definitely for the better. You don’t have to do them all. You can just choose what best suits you. Try one or two that works for you and continue doing them.
